For years ozone has been a scapegoat for the political machines. Ozone levels increase due to our failure to reduce hydrocarbon emissions from our vehicles, power plants, factories and thousands of landfills across the country. The media has been trained to report on ozone levels instead of the levels of hydrocarbon emissions. But most people do not understand this and think that ozone is the "enemy".
